South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns ended TP Mazembe's 12-year unbeaten home run in the African Champions League after beating them 2-1 on Saturday.

Peter Shalulile gave Sundowns a 67th-minute lead in Lubumbashi but veteran forward Tresor Mputu Mabi drew Mazembe level eight minutes from time.

However, winger Lyle Lakay scored a precious stoppage-time winner for Sundowns to mark Mazembe's first home defeat after 21 matches, a run stretching back to 2009.

One-time African Champions Sundowns are on top of Group B with maximum nine points, while TP Mazembe remain at the bottom with only two points from three games.

Elsewhere, Sudan's Al-Mereikh bagged their first point in Group A after playing out a 0-0 draw with Tanzanians side Simba.

Simba remain on top of the group with seven points, four ahead of DR Congo's Vita Club and Egypt's Ahly, who meet later on Saturday.
