Morocco's Belgian coach Eric Gerets said on Monday that his team should pick up the six possible points from their coming two games against Gambia and Ivory Coast in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, adding he will not resign if his team fail to achieve their mission.

The Atlas Lions, who were drawn in Group C with Ivory Coast, Gambia and Tanzania, will face Gambia as visitors on 1 June, before receiving Ivory Coast in Morocco, ten days later.

''We have to win our two games in 2014 qualifiers,'' Eric Gerets said to the French television channel TF1.

''In case of failure, I know that there are a lot of people in Morocco who will demand my resignation, but I don't care about my future. I want to concentrate on my work.''

The Belgian coach has been under fire since Morocco's failure in the last African Cup of Nations, when the Atlas lions quit the competition in the first round.

Gerets appears in the shortlist of the French side Olympique de Marseille, who are looking for a new coach to follow Didier Dechamps.

Meanwhile, Gerets advised Morocco's midfielder Younes Belhanda to make the right choice before leaving the French side Montpellier.

Belhanda, who produced a string of strong performances with Montpellier and helped his team to top the French League, was linked to several European giants such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

''I know that Belhanda became a target for several clubs, but he has to think about his future before leaving Montpellier, '' Gerets concluded.
