Algeria are on the verge of reaching next year's African Nations Cup finals after claiming a late 1-0 victory over Libya in a qualifier that was played in Casablanca due to security concerns in Libya.

Hillel Soudani scored the winner for the visitors three minutes from time before tensions boiled over, with Libya and Algeria players engaging in a brawl.

Algeria will be favourites to go through when they host Libya in the second leg of the final round next month.

Elsewhere, Guinea secured a narrow 1-0 home win over Niger.
