The coaching staff of the Sudanese club Al-Merreikh have cancelled Monday’s friendly match against Libyan hosts El-Amn El-Aam and decided to leave the country due to the current demonstrations.

Al-Merreikh's Egyptian coach Hossam El-Badry and his squad, including the Pharaohs’ goalkeeper Essam El Hadry, will return to Sudan on Monday to resume their preparation for the new season.

Merriekh have played three friendlys amid their ten- day training campaign in Libya.  They won 1-0 against Al-Sawahily, drew with Al-Tahaddy 1-1 and were defeated by Al-Akhdar 0-2.

Essam El Hadary joined the Sudanese giants early this season after he left Egyptian Zamalek due to misconduct with the coaching staff.

Hossam El Badry has led Al-Merreikh since he quit coaching the Egyptian league holders Ahly, after a series of poor results.
