Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly stepped up their interest in Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, The Daily Mirror claims.
"Tottenham are keeping tabs on Alex Song’s plight at Barcelona. Song has struggled to force his way into the Barca side since quitting Arsenal last summer," the British newspaper said on Sunday.
Cameroonian midfielder Song has failed to book a regular place in the Spanish giants' squad since he joined them on a five-year contract last summer.
Spurs are eager to secure the 25-year-old's services during the summer transfer window as they bid for a place in the European Champions League.
The English Premier League outfit are fifth in the English Premier League table with 58 points, three behind fourth place Chelsea.
