Ghana and Schalke forward Kevin-Prince Boateng says he is fully committed to the Black Stars, promising to deliver his best in the upcoming clash with Egypt.
The Egyptian Pharaohs will host the Ghanaians in the second leg of the World Cup qualifying playoffs on 19 November.
Despite missing his team's 6-1 win over Egypt in the first leg of the playoff qualifier game on 15 October due to injury, Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah included Boateng in the 24-man list to play in Cairo in the second leg of the game.
“I am always happy when I have to play for the Black Stars. That is why I am here, because I am a part of the team, and the coach, the president and the players know I am always proud to be here,” Boateng was quoted as saying on Ghanasoccernet.com on Saturday.
“Of course it is a bad situation because every time there is a national team game I have a problem. Of course I can’t come if I am injured. I wanna be 100 per cent, I wanna be able to give everything when I come to play for Ghana," added the 26-year old forward who ended his two-year international retirement last September.
After missing Ghana's last two World Cup qualifying games against Zambia and Egypt, Boateng was heavily criticized by Ghanaians through on social media.
"Social networks are an easy way to insult people and say bad things to them," explained the former Milan player Boateng.
“The last time that I could not come to play for Ghana people sent me messages that were not nice, including people praying that I got injured...These messages they are not nice because I love playing football, I love playing football for my club, I love playing football for the Ghana," Boateng explained.
The Pharaohs have a mountain to climb in the upcoming game against Ghana, as they need a five-goal margin victory against Ghana to overcome their 6-1 trashing in the first leg of the game and reach the World Cup finals.
