Algeria, Morocco advance in Olympic qualifiers

Algerian and Morocco Olympic teams book their places in the third round of the Olympic qualifier; Algeria after beating Madagascar and Morocco despite losing to Mozambique

Algeria U-23 have defeated their hosts Madagascar 1-0 in the 2012 London Olympic Games qualifiers on Sunday.

It took Algeria’s Sid-Ahmed Aouadj only two minutes to score the only goal of the game to ensure his country reaches the third round after their first leg 3-0 win.

At Maputo, Morocco lost 2-1 against Mozambique, but they also qualified for the third round after winning at home 2-0 in the first leg.

Cumbe and Uetimane scored for the hosts (25,90+1), while Younes Mokhtar scored a consolation goal for the Atlas Lions in 69th minute.
