France coach Didier Deschamps filed a civil suit against the girlfriend of player Samir Nasri on Friday for offensive tweets, French magazine France Football reported.
Following the player's omission from Deschamps’ World Cup squad, his girlfriend Anara Atanes tweeted "F… France and F… Deschamps ! What a s.. manager!”. She has since apologised for her remarks.
Deschamps said that he dropped Nasri because he gives all he has at Manchester City, but not with France.
The France Football Federation (FFF) issued a statement on Friday condemning Atanes’ attitude saying they fully support the decisions of the coach but won't go further in joining him in the suit. "Wide indignation is enough to condemn such an attitude," the statement read.
