Slovenia midfielder Kevin Kampl is joining Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg, reinforcing Dortmund's squad after a disappointing first half of the Bundesliga season.
Dortmund said Monday that the 24-year-old Kampl will be given a contract through 2019. It gave no details of the transfer deal.
The versatile German-born player has 29 goals and 54 assists in 109 games for Salzburg.
Dortmund, the 2011 and 2012 Bundesliga champion and runner-up in the last two seasons, went into the league's winter break second from bottom. It has lost 10 out of 17 games in the Bundesliga, but has qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League.
