Nicklas Bendtner scored a late equalizer and converted the decisive penalty to give Wolfsburg the German Super Cup title over Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Bendtner made it 1-1 in the 89th minute to send the match straight into the penalty shootout, with no extra time.

All five Wolfsburg players scored from the spot, while goalkeeper Koen Casteels made an acrobatic save with his foot to deny Bayern's Xabi Alonso.

Arjen Robben scored for Bayern in the 49th but coach Pep Guardiola remained winless in the German Super Cup in three attempts.

Arturo Vidal made his debut for Bayern, going on in the 74th. He was booked eight minutes later and scored from the first penalty shot.
