Atletico Madrid pulled level on points with Spanish league leader Barcelona after Antoine Griezmann scored a blistering goal to complete a 2-1 fightback against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte scored from a corner kick to put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute, only for Saul Niguez to equalize from another corner just before halftime.

With Bilbao dictating the flow of play and coach Diego Simeone calling for home fans to rally his side, Griezmann unleashed a long shot that went into the corner of the net for the 67th-minute winner.

The forward rushed to embrace Simeone on the sidelines where they celebrated the goal that left Atletico level on 35 points with defending champion Barcelona.
