Club officials from Serie A teams Atalanta and Chievo Verona, along with three Serie B sides, will face an Italian Football Federation disciplinary panel next week following a match-fixing and betting scandal

The federation says Tuesday that 18 clubs and 26 people were ordered by its prosecutor to come before the National Disciplinary Commission. The Serie B clubs are Ascoli, Hellas Verona and Sassuolo.

Proceedings will begin either 3 or 4 August, with clubs risking relegation and individuals a life ban if found guilty.

A separate criminal probe, in Cremona, has meanwhile led to 16 arrests.

The investigation followed a Serie C match between Cremonese and Paganese, in which Cremonese players allegedly had their drinks spiked to prevent them playing well.
