Manchester City dispatched Crystal Palace 4-0 and Sergio Aguero passed up a chance at a hat trick in the English Premier League on Saturday.
City tied Arsenal for the provisional overall lead. Arsenal was playing its 22nd-round match on Sunday at Stoke.
Fabian Delph and Aguero, in the first half, relieved City's goal-scoring frustration after the scoreless draw with Everton on Wednesday.
Aguero scored his second after more than an hour, and set up David Silva instead of going for his third goal.
