The disciplinary committee of the Saudi football association have suspended Ittihad Jeddah coach Manuel Jose for three matches and fined him SR75,000 for misconduct. During the press conference after his team’s match against Al Qadesia last Friday, the Portuguese coach accused the Saudi referees of helping the big clubs like Al Hilal, Al Nasr and Al Shabab at the expense of the other teams in the competition The former coach of the Egyptian side Ahly apologised in an official statement on Saturday, asserting that declarations were misunderstood by the translator, affirming that his talk was mainly about any trip for his team would be an advantage for the others. It is worth mentioning that Jose left the Cairo giants in the summer of 2009 to work with the Angolan national team, which he left last summer to lead the Saudi giants. Jose is well-known for his continuous attacks against opponents, referees and media, but he was rarely punished by the Egyptian FA during the five years he spent in Cairo. So the recent Saudi fine may be the biggest in the experienced coach's career.
