Germany's anti-cartel agency says it has received a complaint from a German manufacturer of goal-line technology over UEFA's choice of rival equipment for the European Championship in France.

UEFA picked the technology made by Hawk-Eye, a subsidiary of Sony, which is a major sponsor of the Champions League.

The GoalControl company in Germany, whose technology was used at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, believes there was no proper tender ahead of Euro 2016. UEFA selected Hawk-Eye in April among four bidders.

GoalControl confirmed the complaint on Tuesday and referred all questions to its lawyer, who did not immediately return calls.

GoalControl is used by the French league, and is installed in French stadiums.

The anti-cartel agency still has not decided whether to consider GoalControl's complaint.
