Barcelona salvaged a late draw at second-place Valencia to maintain a four-point lead at the top of the Spanish league on Sunday.
Valencia appeared set for its ninth-straight league win until Jordi Alba scored from inside the area after a perfect pass from Lionel Messi in the 82nd minute.
Rodrigo had put the hosts ahead from close range in the 60th in front of a raucous crowd at the Mestalla Stadium.
The high-profile game between the league leaders was marked by a refereeing mistake that cost Barcelona a goal in the first half. Valencia goalkeeper Neto was unable to hold onto Messi's shot but the linesman did not see that the ball had crossed the goal line.
Barcelona reached 35 points from 13 matches, eight points ahead of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
