Bayern Munich defender Rafinha is set to join Brazilian club Flamengo on a free transfer at the end of the season, the 33-year-old said on Thursday.

Rafinha, who has four international caps for Brazil, is free to reach a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club as his current deal with Bayern ends this season.

"I've seen Flamengo's plans and I like them a lot," German newspaper Bild https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/verhandlungen-mit-brasilien-klub-rafinha-hofft-auf-flamengo-wechsel-59453490.bild.html quoted Rafinha as saying.

"I still want to win titles and I saw an opportunity with Flamengo. There is mutual interest and we are close to reaching an agreement."

Rafinha has made 255 appearances for Bayern over eight years but his first team opportunities this season have been limited with the emergence of 23-year-old Joshua Kimmich as the club's first choice right back.
