Liverpool, who are in a battle with Manchester City for the English Premier League title, will play July friendlies at Boston’s Fenway Park, New York’s Yankee Stadium and Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana, the team announced on Tuesday.
Liverpool will kick off the trio of pre-season games with a July 19 clash against Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in what will be the first competitive football match in the 90-year history of the University of Notre Dame’s 77,000-seat stadium.
The team will then play at two of the most storied Major League Baseball stadiums, against La Liga side Sevilla on July 21 at Fenway Park followed by a July 24 match against Portugal’s Sporting at the home of the New York Yankees.
“We’re heading to three incredible locations this year,” Billy Hogan, Liverpool’s Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer, said in a statement. “Each of the stadiums has their own deep-rooted heritage similar to our own.”
