Pedro Leon's first-half goal led Getafe to a 2-0 win at last-place Espanyol in the Spanish league on Sunday.

Getafe dominated the match at Cornella-El Prat stadium from the start, and Leon converted its dominance into a 17th-minute winner when he cut back along the edge of the area and slotted a left-footed shot inside the post.

Defender Jose "Mane'' Jimenez added a second goal in the 90th to seal Getafe's second straight win.

Espanyol has lost three straight and is two points from safety after 13 rounds.
