After Saturday's goalless draw with Atletico Madrid, Barcelona coach Tata Martino has said he is satisfied with the result.
"It’s a good point if we keep in mind that we played away to a team that have not conceded any points at home up until today," Martino was quoted as saying on the club's official website after the game.
"We wanted to win the match but we can’t be reproached for getting this result. It’s not a bad thing to close out the first half of the season with 50 points," he added.
Barcelona are leading the La Liga with 50 points after 19 matches, sharing the same points with Atletico Madrid, and six points more than arch-rival Real Madrid who will play on Sunday.
"I have the feeling that tonight’s match will make us stronger," Martino said.
The Catalans' midfielder Cesc Fabregas also said a draw was a good result.
"We ended up pinning Atletico Madrid back in their own area, we were a very solid team," Fabregas said.
"We took a step forward today, Atletico are one of the best teams in Europe and they defend really well."
Barcelona's central midfielder Xavi Hernandez also praised the team's performance.
"We controlled the match, but we didn’t create a lot of chances. It was a very intense match," Hernandez was quoted as saying on Barcelona's official website.
"We could have scored in the last 15 minutes, but Atletico showed that they are a great team," he added.
