Egyptian squash star Ramy Ashour has withdrawn from both NetSuite Open and US Open squash tournaments due to injury.
The NetSuite Open is due to start on 26 September in San Francisco, while the US Open will start on 11 October in Philadelphia.
According to the official website of the Professional Squash Association, the 26-year-old player is suffering from a hamstring injury that will keep him out of the most prestigious events played in America.
The two-time world squash champion has suffered from a series of injuries since ending his 49-match winning streak against Nick Matthew during the 2013 World Squash Championship.
Ashour's withdrawal will deny him the chance to defend his NetSuite Open title or add a second US Open crown to his trophy-laden career.
Ashour's countryman and four-time world champion and world no. five Amr Shabana will move up to occupy the number two seed in the NetSuite Open and the number four seed in the US Open.
