Fourth-seeded Jelena Jankovic defeated third-seeded Venus Williams 6-4, 7-5 Saturday in the semifinals of the Hong Kong Open.
The Serb saved 14 of 16 break points against Williams.
Second-seeded Angelique Kerber of Germany beat fifth-seeded Samantha Stosur 6-2, 6-2 in the other semifinal.
Kerber is chasing her fifth WTA singles title this year after victories in Charleston, Stuttgart, Birmingham and Stanford.
