Algeria recovered from their 22-18 defeat by Egypt to beat Gabon 35-24, as Tunisia made it two wins on the trot, beating DR Congo 37-22

Algeria bounced back from their opening defeat at the hands of hosts Egypt in the African Handball Cup of Nations on Friday by beating Gabon, while Tunisia overtake Libya to head up their group.

After losing 22-18 to Egypt a day ago, defending champions Algeria made amends against Gabon, who were handed a 35-24 defeat by the North Africans in Group A.

Meanwhile Tunisia's 37-22 win over DR Congo sent them to the top of Group B following their opening 30-18 victory over Libya.

In the same group, Angola defeated Libya 29-15 for their second win in a row, while Congo recovered from their narrow loss to DR Congo by beating Kenya 34-19.

Morocco play Cameron while Egypt face Nigeria later on Friday in Group A.
