Egypt's javelin thrower Ihab Abdel-Rahman faces the threat of suspension after failing another doping test, executive manager of the Egyptian anti-doping agency Ossama Ghoneim said Wednesday.

Abdel-Rahman, who clinched Egypt's first medal at the Athletics' World Chamionship after winning silver in Beijing in 2015, was dropped from the Egyptian delegation that participated in the Rio Olympics after he tested positive for a banned substance following a doping test in April.

The athlete underwent another test in Barcelona that confirmed the result of the first test.

"The second test confirmed that the player took a banned substance," Ghoneim told Ahram Sports Wednesday.

"He will be questioned soon by the Athletics International Federation that will decide the player's fate upon the result of the investigations," he concluded.
