Women's world number five Ranim El-Welily of Egypt sealed a place in Al-Ahram Open semis after defeating American Amanda Sobhy 3-1 (11-9,4-11, 11-6 and 11-3) in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
She will face England's Sarah-jane Perry in the semis after the latter defeated eight-time world champion Nicol David of Malaysia in a five-set thriller earlier in the day day.
The other semi-final will see an all-Egyptian clash between Nour El-Sherbini and Nour El-Tayeb.
