Egypt's Raneem El-Welily reached the Squash World Championship quarterfinals for the fifth time in a row on Monday after beating Olivia Blatchford of USA 3-0 in the Red Sea resort of El-Gouna.
World number three El-Welily dominated all three of the match’s sets (11/5, 11/6, 11, 1).
Raneem will be facing world number five Laura Massaro of England in the prestigious tournament’s next round on Wednesday.
Massaro defeated Joelle King of New Zealand 3-1 earlier on Monday to reach the quarters.
On Sunday, Egyptian defending champion Nour El Sherbini (world number 1) and Egyptian Nouran Gohar (4) reached the quarters after beating Tesni Evans and Nour El-Tayeb respectively.
In the men's El-Gouna International Tournament, Karim Ali Fathi (38) failed to reach the quarters after losing 3-0 to Simon Rosner (8).
Fares Dessouky (16) defeated Australia's Ryan Cuskelly 3-1 to reach the quarters where he will face Diego Elias of Peru on Wednesday.
Karim Abdel-Gawad (2) is yet to play his match on Monday.
On Sunday, world number six Marawan El-Shorbagy reached the quarterfinal after beating Australia's Cameron Pilley 3-0 to set an all-Egyptian meeting on Tuesday with his brother Mohamed El-Shorbagy (1), who proceeded after defeating countryman Mohamed Abouelghar.
