Hosts Egypt slumped to a 66-40 defeat by European heavyweights Germany in their last group-stage game at the U19 World Cup on Tuesday to set up a last-16 meeting with Argentina.

Germany strolled to an easy win but had their lead trimmed to 10 points at the end of the third quarter. They restored their comfortable advantage in the fourth quarter to finish second behind group leaders Lithuania, who defeated Puerto Rico 96-57.

Egypt's defeat comes two days after they suffered an embarrassing 88-50 loss to Lithuania.

However, they made a bright start by beating Puerto Rico 67-65 in the tournament's opening game on Saturday.

Egypt finished third in their group with four points and will face Argentina, who are second in Group A, on Wednesday.
