One of Egypt's best squash players, Darwish, will have a tough battle against Frenchman Gregory Gaultier when they meet in the 2012 Case Swedish Open.

The second seeded 31-year-old, Darwish booked his place in the final to compete for the $7,000 prize after beating Henrik Mustonen of Finland 3-0 in the first round before he eliminated Switzerland’s Nicolas Mueller 3-1 and Englishman Daryl Selby 3-1.

"It's always difficult to play against Selby," said the world No4 and the runner-up of 2009’s tournament, who is celebrating his 38th Tour final. "He's usually a late starter, which means you have to be awake the whole match because he always comes up towards the end."

Only one other Egyptian participated in the PSA International 70 Championship, Amr Khaled Khalifa, but he suffered an early exit to Simon Rosner of Germany 3-0.
