"The system we are applying during the tournament ensures the best conditions of isolation and quarantine," head of the Accommodation and Logistics Commission Mamdouh El-Sheshtawy was quoted as saying on the tournament's official website.

Japan are in Group C of the Men’s World Championship, alongside Croatia, Qatar, and Angola, as they will play their games in Borg Al-Arab Sports Hall, Alexandria.

The Samurai Warriors booked their place in the World Championship after coming in third at the 2020 Asian Handball Federation’s Asian Men’s Championship.

Japan made 14 appearances in World Championships over the years, with their best appearance being in 1970, when they finished the tournament in 10th place.
