Ahly defeated their Cairo rivals Zamalek 21-17 in the Handball African Champions League final in Morocco to win the title for the first time since 1994.

The Red Devils led 10-9 at halftime and widened the gap in the second half to prevent Zamalek from winning a second consecutive title and claim their fourth African accolade.

Ahly booked their place in the final after beating Tunisia's Esperance 24-23 in the semi-final, while title holders, Zamalek, reached the tournament's final after beating Algerian side Esperance de Skikda 28-23 earlier.
