Egypt have reached the Handball World Championship second round after defeating Australia 39-14 in their final Group D game on Saturday.
The Pharaohs went through virture of a superior goal difference over North African rivals Algeria after both sides finished level on three points.
Egypt defeated Australia with a 25-goal margin and Algeria's 26-29 defeat by Hungary later in the day ensured their progress to the round of 16 after they finished fourth in th group.
Egypt have failed to go beyond the group stage since 2003. Their best ever position was fourth-place finish in the 2001 edition in France.
