For sending a political message by wearing a T-shirt publicising the pro-Morsi four-finger Rabaa sign while receiving his gold medal at the World Championship in Russia, player Mohamed Youssef has been suspended by the Egyptian Kung Fu Association from participating in the next round of the international event.

With this gesture, gold medalist Youssef demonstrated his solidarity with the hundreds who died during the mid-August forced dispersal of two Islamist protest camps held in Cairo to demand the reinstatement of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.

"Kung Fu player Mohamed Youssef will be recalled from Russia due to his behavior," Egypt Kung Fu Association executive officer Gamal El-Jazzar told Ahram Arabic website.

"He will also be banned from representing Egypt in the coming Kung Fu World Championship that kicks off on 27 November in Kuala Lumpur," he concluded.
