Egypt's Mohamed Elshorbagy beats England's James Willstrop in the quarterfinal of the Squash World Championship

Mohamed Elshorbagy defeated English number one and world number 3 James Willstrop 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the Squash World Championship to reach the semis alongside fellow Egyptian Ramy Ashour.

Elshorbagy – world number 6 - overcame Willstrop with a 3-1 win (12-10, 11-6, 2-11 and 11-9) in 78 minutes.   

He will face the winner of Daryl Selby vs. Gregory Gaultier game that will be played later on Friday.

Defending champion Ramy Ashour also reached the semi-final on Thursday after easing past India’s Saurav Ghosal.

Ashour will face Englishman Nick Matthew, who eliminated Egyptian Amr Shabana in the quarter final on Thursday, in the tournament's semis on Saturday.
