Designer Boutique Catalogue
Notably, shoppers get a chance to feel the materials and see the quality from the Designers’ Boutique catalogue, Egypt’s first and only printed shopping catalogue.
Normally at LE35 per catalogue, their catalogue concept highlights local designers and producers. Every season they publish a new catalogue, with the new one to be published in time Christmas in November. Look for them in Cilantro, Alef bookstores, Quick 24, among others, and soon in Virgin Megastore, Cairo.
Considering that one-sies and clutches are both hot in the season, your fashion-freak friends and family members will appreciate some of the items in the catalogue:
Hulay ethnic creations, for instance, has a soft cotton jumpsuit that could fit anyone. The solid-colour choices include black, white, blue fuchsia and green - one of the upcoming colours in the 2012 Spring/Summer season. The chest area is beautifully embroidered, adding a unique touch to the season’s basic.
On Hulay’s practical side they have a large, decorated, cross-body satchel, which tend to be much more comfortable than large, regular bags.
Since clutches have taken over runways and are a nightlife accessory must, a Batik clutch will never get lost among the crowd. The clutches’ highly-textured weavings and bright, Palestinian embroidery clearly state that the owner is chic and in-step, but at the same time grounded and worldly.
If you know someone who has Misr fever and wants to scream they are so proud to be Egyptian, there’s even an Egyptian flag laptop sleeve.
Attractive Arabic style home décor is also in the mix. One example is a tea box for tea-lovers whose cover has an old photo of Cairo. Another great example are the modern-shaped tables that incorporate elements favoured in homes in the Middle East, such as crystals, copper and bronze, semi-precious stones, filigree – and even the water pots of shisha (hookah) pipe!
Impressive, digital wall hangings inspired by graphic design and paintings by high-quality artists are also featured.
