Designer and researcher at the Fashion Design Methodology School of Textiles in Sweden, Maja Gunn, offers a two-week recycling fashion design course starting 4 November.

She "will teach students many different skills on how to create fashion and trendy garments without having to know the techniques of pattern making. Many known designers have successfully made it into the international fashion scene by using this method, such as Custo and the brand Desigual from Spain. It is all about how to create fashion utilizing garments that one already has or second hand clothing and accessories, shoes, bags belts, etc." according to the online course description.

Each participant will create a personal collection to present at a fashion show slated for December 2012 at Darb 1718 in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden.

Karina Shalaby from En Vogue Modeling & Finishing Institute will offer a catwalk training for the models who wear the garments.

Students or professionals in art or design or a fashion-related field (fashion industry, fashion shop, fashion or art magazine, etc.) are invited to attend this workshop.
