In an effort to enhance visitors’ experience at archaeological sites in Egypt, the Ministry of Antiquities has introduced a number of new services at the Giza Plateau, which is home to the famed pyramids of Giza.

Assistant of the Minister of Antiquities for the Development of Archaeological Sites Ayman Saeed explains that the introduction of the new services is part of a cooperation protocol between the ministry and the National Bank of Egypt to develop a number of archaeological sites in Egypt.

The protocol covers sites including Abu Simbel, Philae and Karnak temples, as well as the Dahsour and Saqqara archaeological sites.

The services in Giza include an information desk, sun shades, benches and outlets to charge mobile phones and cameras in different areas of the plateau, according to Saeed.

Also installed are guide posts and signboards to improve the presentation of the archaeological site.
