More security measures are taken at archaeological sites

Police will appear again at major archaeological sites and tourist attractions

During a meeting held at the main premises of the ministry of the interior, the ministers of tourism, antiquities and the interior agreed to provide more security measures at major archaeological sites and tourist destinations.

Zahi Hawass, minister of antiquities, said that Minister of the Interior Major General Mansour El-Essawi had promised to provide more security measures and guards on Al-Muizz street, the Khan El-Khalili area and on the Giza plateau within a couple of days, in order to assure stability.
