Winter is the ideal time to visit Luxor's Valley of the Kings, the millenia-old site of pharaonic tombs that houses the final resting place of King Tutankhamun (and possibly Queen Nefertiti). Despite the many modern and ancient wonders of Luxor, the city is now largely devoid of the tourists that its economy so heavily depends on. (All photos by Hannah Porter)
