Artists from Cairo Symphony Orchestra, supported by Cairo Opera House musicians and staff, protest on stage against culture ministry in place of concert by world-class pianist Ramzi Yassa on Saturday evening

For the second time in five days Cairo Opera House artists and staff held an unprecedented stage demonstration. The group filled the stage in protest prior to the highly anticipated performance by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra with internationally renowned pianist Ramzi Yassa.

The artists continue their strike against the recent decisions by Egypt's culture minister to sack several leaders of the culture ministry, including head of the Cairo Opera House Ines Abdel-Dayem. Read more on the strike here.
