Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi held talks on Tuesday with a number of head of states and senior international leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations’ General Assembly in New York, his office said.

El-Sisi met with Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, and the two men discussed irregular migration and signed a document of cooperation priorities for the next three years, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said in a statement.

In addition, El-Sisi met with Cyprus’ President Nicos Anastasiades and discussed energy issues and Egyptian-Greek-Cyprian cooperation, as well as the means to put into action mutual projects agreed in previous summits between the three states.

The Egyptian president also discussed means of bolstering Egyptian-Brazilian economic ties and trade links with President Michel Temer of Brazil.

On Monday, El-Sisi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met for the first time, in what Egypt said was part of its efforts to revive the Middle East peace process.

The Egyptian president is also scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday.
