Egyptian and French naval forces carried out on Sunday a maritime training exercise at an Egyptian Red Sea naval base with the participation of the French warship COURBET and a number of Egyptian naval vessels.
The training comes in the framework of bolstering military relations, enhancing cooperation, and exchanging experiences between the Egyptian armed forces and their French counterparts, according to an Egyptian Armed Forces statement.
The exercise included drills on day and night sailing, air defence, defensive artillery fire to protect marine units while crossing dangerous areas, and protecting vessels carrying crucial cargo.
The exercise aims to enhance the combat efficiency of the naval forces of both countries to achieve the highest levels of readiness to carry out any joint tasks.
