Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Tuesday that the launch of the Egyptian-Bulgarian joint business council was one of the most important results of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev’s visit to Cairo.

In a press conference held in Cairo following his talks with his Bulgarian counterpart, El-Sisi said that the launch of the Egyptian-Bulgarian business council would have a positive role on boosting economic relations and trade exchange between the two countries.

The Egyptian president said that the size of trade between the two countries has reached over $1 billion, which makes Egypt Bulgaria's number one trade partner in Africa and the Middle East.

"We had today very constructive talks where we discussed ways to boost bilateral relations politically, economically and militarily, in addition to the recent regional and international developments of mutual interest," El-Sisi added that it was important to coordinate and communicate between the two countries for the sake of stability in the Middle East and the Balkans.

El-Sisi and Radev also discussed the migration crisis and how to solve it through joint action.

President Radev invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Bulgaria soon.

This is the first visit by President Rumen Radev to Cairo.
