The Egyptian and French navies have carried out a joint transit naval exercise in the domain of the southern fleet in the Red Sea, Egypt’s Army Spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.
The exercise came with the participation of the French Foreign Support Unit (LOIRE) and the Egyptian supply ship (Halayeb).
The exercise involved a number of activities including training on different naval formations, inspection of ships, and naval supply operations.
“The exercise comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the Egyptian and French armies to contribute to the refinement of skills, exchange of expertise on the latest battle tactics and supporting maritime stability in the region”, the statement said.
