Several Egyptian cities were struck by a sandstorm on Friday morning, including Cairo, cities of the Nile Delta and the Red Sea governorates, and the cities of the Suez Canal (Port Said, Suez and Ismailia).
Egypt's Red Sea Port Authority temporarily suspended activity at the main seaports of the Suez Canal due to poor weather conditions.
Despite the sandstorm, all flights out of Cairo International Airport reportedly remain on schedule.
