Three Egyptian universities in emerging countries top 100

China's Peking and Tsinghuam top list of 100 best universities in BRICS and emerging economies; three Egyptian institutions make it onto list

Three Egyptian universities have been included in the Times Higher Education BRICS and Emerging Economies top one hundred list.

Alexandria University (93), Cairo University (95) and Mansoura University (97) appeared in the recently published list.

The ranking, supported by Thomson Reuters, encompasses institutions in states with growing economies, including the BRICS states of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

China's Peking and Tsinghuam, South Africa's University of Cape Town, Taiwan's National Taiwan University, and Turkey's Boğaziçi University were the top five.

The selection criteria were based on teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
