Egyptian officials have recently banned tuk-tuks from several Cairo neighourhoods, with violators fined LE1,500.

 

In recent years thousands of mostly young men have become tuk-tuk drivers, a form of informal employment which provides an income to those who can't find permant jobs. 

 

Egypt's official unemployment figures currently stand at around 13 percent.
