Turkish writer Elif Shafak gained huge popularity among Arab readers after her hit novel "The Forty Rules of Love" was translated into Arabic in 2012.

Elif Shafak’s latest novel, "10 Minutes 38 Seconds In This Strange World,” nominated for the Booker Prize, will get an Arabic edition soon.

Lebanese publishing house Dar Al-Adab announced an upcoming translation of the book but did not set a date for its release. The book will be translated by Mohamed Darwish.

Elif Shafak, born in 1971, is the most read and popular female Turkish writer. In 2017, she was chosen by the American news magazine Politico as one of the 12 people who would make the world better. She writes in both Arabic and Turkish.

The novel was originally published In Turkish under the title "On Dakika Otuz Sekiz Saniye," by Doğan Publishing House in 2018 and translated into English and released by Penguin's Viking imprint in 2019.
