Egypt’s Minister of Defence Sedqi Sobhi met on Thursday with a delegation from the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) to discuss enhancing Egyptian-US military relations, as well as cooperation in the war on terrorism and security in the Middle East.

The meeting was attended by a number of Egyptian Armed Forces commanders.

Sobhi stressed the significance of the decades-long Egyptian-US strategic ties that bind the armed forces of both countries, who aim to achieve peace and development, and confront threats to security and stability in the region.

The JINSA delegation praised cooperation between Egypt and the United States in all fields, stressing the importance of coordination and consultation between the two countries on all levels in light of Egypt's efforts to counter terrorism and the country's active engagement with regional and international issues of common interest.
