The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) said on Wednesday that the trading session hours of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and NILEX will return to normal as of Sunday 31 May.

The trading session of EGX and NILEX will operate from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, instead of 1:30 pm during the holy month of Ramadan, an informed source with the bourse said in statements to MENA.

Banks will also be back to work on Sunday after being closed during the Islamic Eid El-Fitr holiday.

Shorter than the regular, the official working day for banks will be from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm for customers, and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for employees starting next week, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said on Monday.

The CBE said the banks' working hours have been shortened as part of measures taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
