Settou Zad, a documentary about famed Egyptian singer Sheherazade will screen at the Netherlands-Flemish Institute on Sunday 15 February.

The filmmaker, Heba Yossry, takes viewers on an intimate journey through the life and stardom of her grandmother. The film is composed of old footage, family photographs as well as more recent interviews with Sheherazade.

"Interwoven with original recordings, family albums and old footage ‘Settou Zad’ is a unique document made with a lot of love, that captures a most interesting personal history," the announcement of the event reads.

Produced by Youssef Chahine's Misr International Films, the 82-minute feature was first screened at the 5th Panorama of the European Film. Sunday's screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director.

The screening comes as part of the Netherlands-Flemish Institute and the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo's programme 'Nostalgia'.

Running between January and March, ‘Nostalgia’ is a curated programme of films and lectures that carry a nostalgic feel. So far, the programme has included the screening of Ayten Amin's Villa 69, Viaggio in Italia (Journey to Italy), Chahine's Alexandria...Why? and El Bab El Maftooh (The Open Door) -- starring late Egyptian actress Faten Hammama.
